Fireworks.

When we got back to town we lit off the fireworks we had bought.

To Say that Ben HATED them would be an understatement. He said "Fires Scary I want Gaga" Gaga was inside.

it was like 55 that night my poor AZ babies were freezing to death. At this point I took Benners inside to gaga, he disliked them so much he was not having any fun. and thank goodness Pappy came out and helped my because I didn't have a punk and it was taking me forever to get the fireworks lit.

Cherries.

Jeremy & Hailey started a tradition of picking the cherries last year and when Jeremy suggested it to her this year she was all over it and out the door.

but this year he ended up with more help then he needed 4 of the 5 great grandkids that were there (Ben was sleeping) and my, Sy, and Dano.

I was not happy when I found out Jacob had been smooshing the cherries he picked and throwing them on the ground.

Jeremy was not happy when he found out Baby Dylan was going around picking up the smooshed grass covered one and putting then in the pan. Silly baby.

Pictures of the Family

Our friend Marianne Joined us for the BBQ and she was nice enough to take a group shot. We are missing a few. Sam and her family and Jim's girls. But this is all of that were there.

Grandma Nona and 5 of her 8 great grandchildren, Grandma Nona, My cousin Evan, Me and our kids Dylan, Logan, Jacob, Hailey, and Ben.

Aunt Sissy's Family Aunt Sissy and Uncle Ted, Evan and his wife Danielle and their boys Logan and Dylan, my cousin Jeremy and his wife Syona.
We were trying to take a picture of the grand dogs.

I love these babies so much and I love them together. They are so stinkin cute. Poor baby Dylan hadn't had a nap so he was a little grouchy.

Our lovely friend Marianne who we volunteered to be our photographer.
We were sitting on around on Evan's trailer gabbing.

The kids left Dylan's trike down by the barn so I went to rescue it for him and then took it for a ride around the yard.

I'm not sure why Dano is annoyed but the picture was to funny not to share. I like her smile is much prettier.

Ben stole Dylan's bike, instead of having a fit he just sat down on the back and let Ben ride him around the yard.

Black Jack Ketchum

We had some time to kill after the BBQ but before the Rodeo, so mom, Jim, the kids and I in my car and Jeremy and Sy in their car went to find the grave of Black Jack Ketchum. For those of you not familiar Black Jack Ketchum is an outlaw cowboy who was arrested, hung and buried in Clayton, That is it's claim to fame.
http://www.legendsofamerica.com/we-blackjackketchum.html
We knew it was in the cemetery but we didn't know where so we drove around for a little while looking for his grave, when we couldn't find it we stopped and ask some grandma ladies that were tending a grave, and she told me it was right by the entrance up from the flag pole in the middle of the road I remember thinking she's crazy why would it be in the middle of the road

So we parked right up from the flag pole and started walking around mom and Ben stayed in the car. We walked around in all directions for 20 minutes the web site we found said When Black Jack Ketchum was buried no one wanted him near their relatives, so he was buried in the median near the entrance.after 20 minutes I gave up and went back to the car to get a drink and as I was leaning on the passenger side window talking to mom I look up and notice a grave and I thought well that's an odd place for a grave right there in the middle of the road away from everyone else. And then it hit me, oh that's it. We had driven past it twice and walked by it at least 3 times, and mom had set in the car for 20 minutes staring at it. We felt a bit retarded.

Jacob kept calling him Black Jack Ketchup he doesn't really understand it all so he asked us at one point if we were going to dig him up and he asked if he died there and I said no he died at the Jail, and He said lets go there that would be more interesting.

Clayton BBQ

The town host a BBQ after the Parade but before the Rodeo. They have a playground at the Fairgrounds ant I think my kids enjoy that more then the actual BBQ

Who needs playmates when you have Uncles. I know what your thinking I thought you only have one brother. Well I do technically only have 1 brother but I have mentioned before I only have 1 aunt and 2 cousins so we grew up very close so my cousins are more like extra brothers.

They were having trouble getting the merry go round going fast enough, So Uncle Bubbi and Evan went over and helped them. I did have to yell at them, because as a worrying mom I was afraid someone was going to go flying off, especially when a stranger girl joined the fun then I was really afraid they were going to have that new little girl that we didn't know flying off.

Jacob has to take Dramamine and Hay takes it for windy roads, after we got out to ranch Mom let me know I had left it in Raton so I tried to call Uncle Ted who was in town to have him pick me up some more but he forgot his phone so then I tried my cousin Jeremy who was headed down later that day, He was nice enough to stop and get it for me. Well long story short Ryan neglected to tell me the last two times he bought it he bought non-drowsy. So I neglected to tell Jeremy that and so I gave each of the kids half of one but it knocked them out, I swear they ate a few bites and fell asleep in their plates.

at one point he woke crawled in my moms lap and went back to sleep. We sat and visited, it was great. My dad's cousin Brenda even came over and visited for a few minutes.

I love both my cousins little boys, But I have a special place in my heart for his youngest. There were 5 of us growing up and I was the youngest, and when Evan and I are together between my kids and his there are 5 and Dylan is the youngest. Besides the fact that he's so stinking cute.

Cute Babies

My cousin Evan and his wife Danielle(Dano) and there two boys got here this morning. They drove all night and got her early this morning. To give Evan and Danielle a break and a chance to get some rest I took the boys over to the travel trailer, and the kids watched a movie while I read my book. That's one of the things I love about the ranch, There's no cell phone service, and only dial up no wifi so I could relax and read and play with the kids. It's such a nice escape from my hectic life.
I love these 2 babies, they are so stinking cute. Dylan actually likes me and likes to be around me, his big brother Logan wouldn't have anything to do with me at this age. I keep teasing his mommy that he's part vampire. he only likes me when it's daylight. As soon as the sun goes down he doesn't want anything to do with me.
