Jacob's 5th Birthday Party

Since we went to New Mexico the week before Jacob's birthday I wasn't going to have time for much planning and preparation so we decided to go the easy route and do Peter Piper Pizza. Jacob was super excited and decided to have a Spider man theme.

My three goofy kids in the hot dog truck

Spider Man cake, Jacob and his friends. This is the first year Jacob has had actual friend to invite. We invited a bunch of his friends from school and a few from church. I invited a bunch of kids figuring only half of them would come and we would have a good size party. Well shows what I know because almost everyone we invited came so we had a huge party with lots and lots of kids.

This is the before and after. Ryan helping me set up and the party guest.

Jacob opening his presents and Hailey smooshing Aunt Ashley's face.

More presents.

Dad/Pappy and Nate I'm not sure what there talking about but they find it funny
Grandma Jammie.

Matt and Maddi. Carrie and Addyson. I poked the Bear I asked her to share her chair with another little girl and she did not think that was a good idea. So she was mad.

Brother Milius, Miss Marni Jacob's teacher, Janelle, and Tish moms of Jacob's friends
Jacob was so funny he kept asking me if miss Marni was coming to his party. Once she told me they were coming I would tell him yes, I had to laugh he never asked if Miss Marni's little girl that is one of his school friends but he kept asking me if Miss Marni was coming. I think he has a little crush.

Jacob and his spider man cake.

Renee and Baby Maddi, Baby Ben. He was so much trouble, good thing there was enough people to help me keep an eye on him.

after cake and presents we went and rode some rides and played some games. The kids loved this merry go round thing they rode it over and over again.

Two of my favorite guys playing some kind of game.

Jacob School party

We got home from New Mexico late Sunday night and Jacob had to be to school 9am Monday morning. So after I got him off to school we ran to Walmart and got cupcakes and ran back to his school so he could share them with his friends.

Ben thought he was hot stuff that he got to sit at the tables with the big kids. And he cried when I made him leave.

My cute cowboy baby

Ben loves Jacob's cowboy hat, but I don't like him to play with it because it was not cheap and I don't want him to ruin it so I found a $5 one at walmart and I got it for him. He was more interested in the Red one but his daddy would never forgive me if I bought him a Red Fred Hat instead of a Black Bart Hat.

My Jacob is 5

My cute boy turned 5 today. I can't believe he's already 5. I'm not sure how that happened. I keep trying to convince him to stop growing up and every year he tells me "OK I'll turn 4 and then I won't get any bigger" but he keeps saying it every year and never sticks to his word. He has been going to Miss Marni's preschool for 5 months now. I'm so proud of him he's doing so good and he has learned so much. He gets a green day every day and is always a sweet boy for miss Marni he is always telling her he loves her and giving her hugs. He knows most of his letters and can identify them. He's always wanting to know what things start with. He can count up to 20 and can identify a lot of them. He can write his name. He's such a funny boy we joke that he's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because he only has 2 speeds either cute, sweet, and loving, or mean, hateful, and grouchy. He is addicted to the Wii he asks to play it all the time. He's pretty good at it. He will ask me to help him with a certain moves but I feel bad because I can never help him he know more about the silly thing then I do. He loves his brother and sister and he is very sweet to them unless he really wants something and then he is super stinky. If he doesn't get his way he tells us "I never get to" what ever we say no to. He has a very busy schedule he doesn't know his days of the week but he has his own names for them.
Sunday--Church Day
Monday--Big Boy school
Tuesday--Go to Lucinda's (mommy has to work)
Wednesday--Big boy school
Thursday--Stay home and do nothing day
Friday--Big boy school day
Saturday--our day with daddy
He goes on lots of play dates there are 2 little boys at school that he likes to play with and their moms are always inviting him over to play, I need to do better about having them over here.

My poor Hailey Girl

I felt so bad for my Hailey girl tonight. She rode from Arizona to New Mexico with my parents and she was suppose to ride with them from New Mexico back to Arizona tomorrow. Well tonight at dinner she told me she didn't want to go with them she wanted to go with us because she would miss me to much. I tried to talk her into it reminding her how fun it was and that the boys couldn't bug her and how she was the big kid and she got to ride with grandma and pappy. But she told me that wasn't nice because the boys might be sad that they don't get to go. So then she got the idea that Jacob could go with them instead of her. I told her I would talk to Grandma and see but not to say anything. So I talked to everyone and mom asked Jacob if he wanted to go and he said yes. So Hailey leans over to me and says I thought it was a secret. And I told her "we worked it out and Jacob is going to go with Grandma & Pappy." So she started crying and I asked "what's wrong" and she said "I changed my mind I want to go with Grandma & Pappy." So she cried for 10 minutes and all the way home because she remembered how fun it was. I know it was her choice and she has to learn to deal with the consequences of her actions. but I felt so bad for her. This exact same thing happened to me when I was little and I sat and cried because my grandma & Grandpa asked me if I wanted to go with them and I said no and then cried and cried when they left me. I know it's cheesy but I just feel bad for her.

Playing in the Snow up the canyon

Mom & Dad took the kids up the canyon to get to play in the snow. Poor Ben fell asleep on the ride up so he lost another chance to play in the snow. But the big kids loved it. They drove up the canyon until they found a good spot and pulled off to the side of the road. And while Ben slept in the truck the big kids played.

Baby Maddi

My very dear friend Chet and his wife Kristin had their beautiful baby girl on December 4th. I was hoping that she would be born on Ben's birthday but that didn't happen so they'll just have to share a Birthday month. I'm sure I've told this story before but Chet and I have been friends since I was 13. I see them once a year when I go to New Mexico, and every once in a while when they come down here we stay in touch through the phone and email. On our way back to New Mexico We got to stop and meet Baby Maddi. We stayed for a couple of hours and visited and held the baby.

Lunch with Aunt Lisa

Ryan's Aunt Lisa lives in the the South part of Denver so We were only an hour away from them in Denver so we went up and had Lunch with Her and her husband Don and her son Bryan. She showed us around her great new house. I am very jealous of their house and the fact that she gets to live in Colorado while I'm stuck in Arizona. Then we went to Lunch. We had a good time visiting with them. It's been a long time since we've seen them. Lisa and her girls use to live here in Phoenix when Ryan and I first started dating and before Jammie moved to Safford. So we use to spend time together.
