Rohwer Visit

The next dozen post's are all about Sam, John, & Valerie's visit to see us. They were here for 6 days, and we had a ton of fun with them, but we also did a ton of stuff with them. This post is just some pictures of us hanging out at my house.

Kids playing in the Toy room ----Hailey in her natural state now a days with her nose in a book.

Me giving Valerie a big hug. It's funny how kids are different. With my kids if I ask for a hug and they say no, all I have to do is pretend to cry and they will run over and give me a big hug, well that doesn't work with Valerie she thinks it's funny and laughs at you. So I had to learn the trick with her is when she tells you no to tell her. Good I didn't want your stinky hugs anyway and then she'll run over and hug you. she's so funny.

I have no idea what they are doing, but they look like they are having an in depth conversation.

Bath Time. Valerie was very excited to take a bath with HAHA(that is what she calls Hailey)
Valerie was Hailey's shadow all week and anything Hailey said Valerie would agree with it. I asked who's gonna take a bath first the girls or boys, and Valerie said "The Gils" and Hailey said "No the Boys" So Valerie had to quickly agree "yeah the boys"

Benner and Aunt Sam

Jacob really enjoyed having uncle John around. He thought he was a great play mate.

Pudding

Ben thinks he's a big kid so when the big kids had pudding he wanted pudding too. So instead of listening to him scream I just gave up and gave it to him. He sure enjoyed it but wow did he make a mess.

Funny Stubborn Little Monkey Baby

Ben has been eating in a high chair. But when we went away for our anniversary I couldn't haul the highchair to Melanie's and my folks, so I took the little booster seat that's been waiting in the garage for him to get a little bigger. I figured he could handle it for a couple of days. Well ever since then he has started climbing in the kitchen chairs. At first I thought it was cute because he would just crawl up there and sit and looked cute. But then he discovered that he could use those kitchen chairs to climb up onto the kitchen table. One day Ben had already had his snack, and Jacob was having his snack when I walked out of the room Ben was sitting in the chair next to him, just sitting there being cute. All of a sudden I hear Jacob screaming so I run back in and Ben is sitting on top of table eating Jacob's snack two fist fulls at a time. I had to chuckle for a second and then run over and save Jacob's snack.

When ever I would say it was meal time and the big kids would run over and climb up in a chair, as if to say "I'm a big kid too" and every time we put him in his high chair if we didn't get him buckled in good he would stand up and or try to climb out. So I gave in even though I prefer that he stay a baby.

While mom and dad took care of him while we were gone mom let him feed himself his cottage cheese. Which I had not let him do yet, because I do not like cleaning up a yucky baby. Which I am now having to do because ever since he refuses to take food from me he insists on doing it himself. Thanks a lot mom.

He's also so stubborn, if I give him his food all at once he mixes it up and then throws it on the floor. So tonight I gave him just his cheesy potatoes in a bowl with a spoon, so he started screaming and pointing at Jacobs plate. So I thought he wanted the other foods so I gave him a little piece of everything, and he still screamed and pointed. Then I figured he was pointing at my fork. So I handed it to him and he stoped screaming and proceeded to eat his potatoes using both his spoon and my fork.

He's so bull headed. I just sit and laugh at him. He drives me crazy but I love him anyway.

Easter

I love Easter it's my second favorite holiday. I love all the fun stuff with my kids. Decorating eggs, hunting eggs, Easter baskets. It's all so much fun. And Hailey is now big enough that we were able to talk to her about what Easter is really about. Seeing her little brain working and understanding what we were talking about was amazing. Seeing that she was understanding what the saviour did for us, was great. She asked me at one point "So Christmas is to celebrate Jesus Birthday, so Easter is to celebrate his death date?"

My kids have so much the Easter bunny doesn't go to crazy. As kids we always got a book in our Easter basket so I kept that tradition. And I started a new tradition as you fellow Arizonans know the Hot AZ sun destroys plastic outside toys. So the Easter Bunny brings my kids new sandbox toys.

I love watching the Easter egg hunt. Ben even got into it this year. He wasn't so sure about giving us the egg once he found it. He had this look on his face like, "Heck no I'm not giving it to you, go find your own egg."

The hunt brings back found memories for me of my childhood. When we went to grandma & grandpa's my grandpa would always cheat. My big sister and brother would be rushing around finding eggs and I would have only found 1 or 2 So he would go stand next to one and call me over so I'd run over to him and then wow I'd find an egg. I didn't get what he was doing until I was older. And when we had Easter at home. We would find the original eggs and then we would take turns hiding them and then the other two would find them. It was so much fun.

Tired Boy

I went to the grocery store late one evening and Jacob begged to go with me, so I gave in and took him. But about half way through I turned to get something and when I turned back this is what I found.
